The Victorian Women's Guild promotes women's rights and concerns in the State of Victoria.

Our concerns encompass many spheres of life in Victoria ranging across areas as varied as:

We have recently focused our campaigning on the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Amendment Bill which allows people to change their birth certificate to record their gender identity, rather than sex; and which was brought to Parliament with no real consultation with the broader community, including women. We held a meeting to allow women's concerns to be given voice and you can view videos of the event on our Events page. The Bill passed Parliament on 27 August 2019. The Guild will monitor the implementation of this legislation.

We support freedom of speech and value evidence-based discussion. We support the rights of transgender people to live their lives free from violence and discrimination, as we do for all people. We acknowledge that rights for all people is the basis of any fair and balanced society.

We acknowledge that Victoria is on land which was stolen from the Traditional Owners and pay respect to their Elders past and present and all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
